Hypnotherapy Application Criteria

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for entry to the Foundation Course (Level 1).

To progress to the Practitioner Diploma (Level 2), the minimum entry requirement is that the Foundation Course (Level 1) and students will need to demonstrate their capability during initial attendance.

Hours required per course

Foundation Course (known as Level 1)

A minimum of 200 hours fulfilled by the following – home study, reading assignments, written assignments, tasking, successfully partaking  in activities/scenarios showing  proficiency in order to receive a certificate : Foundation Course (referred to in the syllabus as Level 1).

During attendance students do need to be flexible with regards to daily finishing times for the purpose of learning, For example – if the class are in the process of exercise then students would be expected to stay until the classroom session has been completed.

Lunch breaks are likely to be 45-60  minutes, with 5-10 minute comfort breaks as necessary during the day.

Complimentary refreshments are available throughout the day.

Practitioner Diploma ( known as Level 2)

You must already hold a certificate at Foundation/Level 1.

The course is compiled by incorporating 450 hours of study, utilising class room training enhanced with  home study, reading /written assignments, tasking, ‘open book’ test and successful practical demonstrations showing proficiency of your learning.

Again students need to be flexible with regards to daily finishing times for the purpose of learning, for example if the class are in the process of exercise it would be disrespectful for another student to leave without good reason.

Lunch breaks are likely to be 45-60 minutes, with 5-10 minute comfort breaks as necessary during the day.

Complimentary refreshments are available throughout the course.

Course Structure

Foundation Course – Level 1

This is a certified course suitable for individuals wishing to gain a basic understanding in the fundamental principles and practices of clinical hypnosis. Students are introduced to the theoretical concepts and the biological nature of hypnosis, the practical skills required to induce hypnosis, basic problem assessment through taking a case history, simple clinical applications and the ethical use of hypnosis. Students will have many opportunities to experience the hypnotic state and learn various approaches to induce and deepen hypnosis in a safe and professional environment.

Practitioner Diploma Course – Level 2

Level 2 provides a natural progression of study for those who have completed Level 1. The Practitioner diploma provides an in depth knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of clinical hypnosis. Level 2 serves as a minimum level of competence to commence clinical practice. The syllabus covers many areas including the basic etiology and pathology of organic and psychosomatic disease, the biological basis of mind-body approaches, specialized indirect hypnotic communication skills, advanced inductions and therapeutic protocols, a wide range clinical applications where hypnotherapy can be a recommended and effective treatment. It will also include the specialized use of hypnosis in pain control and treating children in a hypnotherapeutic setting.

In addition, an overview with regards to setting up of a  private practice, ethical conduct, gaining business and good practice management is included.

Additional Course Syllabus Information

The courses explore many therapeutic skills, including rapid assessment and profiling of symptoms, accessing and re-synthesis techniques based on the work of Ernest Rossi to facilitate psychological balance (homeostasis), paradoxical strategies and Ericksonian behavioural prescriptions. A major theme of all courses will be the effective utilization of client’s and patients symptom’s in particular the specialized techniques of Inclusive Therapy and Milton Erickson. The course will cover new eye movement therapies that have also gained worldwide recognition for the highly effective treatment of trauma and phobias. New dissociative techniques based on quantum physics and chaos theory will also be explored. The training format will also provide delegates with an exciting new understanding of memory and mind body functioning with regard to hypnotic states and the development of problems.

Though we will enhance your learning by making you aware of EMDR, EFT, Timeline Therapy,  NLP and Mindfulness you will be required to take independent courses on such subjects if you wish to hold an independently sole-titled qualification in such specialties.

The primary aim of the course is to help & develop others as well as self. Furthermore many students attending  courses have gained considerable success within their own professional environment by the utilisation and application of clinical hypnosis within their own framework.

Course Etiquette

Respect for your trainers/fellow students/guest clients:  The unexpected can happen, so if you know you are going to be late, please be courteous enough to inform me as soon as you know you will be late. In doing so an adjustment (with regards to  the criteria of the day) can be put in place to facilitate you catching up far more easily.

In the interest of everyone, mobile devices should at  the very least be set to a method that is only detectable by yourself while in class. If you need to make or take a call that cannot wait until the next break, please leave the classroom swiftly so as to avoid disturbing other students.
